Frequently Asked Questions

What differentiates CCC from other child care resources?

1. COVID Child Care is completely free upfront, no matter what and with no questions asked. In many cases, state funding for child care centers is provided to parents as a reimbursement after they've paid for child care. This system is often slow and costs parents money upfront.

2. In-home child care is the most socially distant option since children come into contact with one volunteer rather than many other children and workers at child care facilities.

How can you ensure that volunteers are not spreading COVID-19?

We require that all volunteers and medical families have not had any contact with the virus or symptoms related to it.

Where do you see this initiative going in the future?

Affordable child care is not something that is specific to the ongoing pandemic. Many medical workers have been furloughed during the crisis and we are hearing from hospitals that those medical workers are now coming back to work.  While our focus is medical workers in this trying time, the landscape is always changing and our volunteers are ready to serve.
